Demi Moore: Role in 'Ghost' Was a Big Challenge

Demi Moore was "scared" when she first read the script for Ghost.

The American actress became a Hollywood star through her role as Molly in the 1990 supernatural romance. However, she was "overwhelmed" by the task of playing a character dealing with the brutal death of her partner.

In the YouTube series Hot Ones, the 62-year-old admits: "I think we have an interesting reaction in life: when we try to control our emotions, we don’t want to cry. We hold our breath. I believe that when you remember to breathe, you can establish a deeper emotional connection, allowing yourself to open up."

Demi reveals that her role was no easy task. "Ghost definitely scared me to death. That such a young person has to cope with the loss of their partner overwhelmed me when I read the script," she admits.

The The Substance actress also talks about the film’s famous moment when she cried from just one eye. "I know the one-eye thing is kind of a cult moment. I didn’t plan it, and I had no control over it," she emphasizes. "It just happened. Somehow, that helped me overcome a hurdle I had set for myself. Not that it’s always been that way... there are still emotional moments where we have to be vulnerable, and that’s not easy."
